About our Team

Our team is part of the Funding domain within Elsevier. Our role is to gather funding information from various sources, enrich and link to other research datasets. We provide insights to funders/institutions via API’s, visualizations.

About the Role

You will be part of a squad that is building a cloud-native application. Your role will involve working on microservices, serverless architecture, managing indexes, and querying data from Elasticsearch for funding information. Additionally, your work will enable numerous data correction flows, which improve the quality of the product. This is crucial in assisting research funding organizations to visualize the entirety of the world’s research data and obtain a clear picture of the global R&D landscape.

About the Requirements

Overall Work Experience-8+ Years

Technical Qualifications-

• Experience with Java 11 and above.

• Proficiency in Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.

• Knowledge of REST Web services and GraphQL.

• Familiarity with SQL, including JPA, Hibernate, and complex SQL queries.

• Understanding Kubernetes.

• Proficient in Unit Testing with Mocking concepts.

• Experience with cloud services, ideally AWS.

• Ability to create CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab.

• Project-level leadership and experience with Object-Oriented Design methodology.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong capacity to work independently and manage one’s time effectively.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly responsible.

• Must be a fast learner and capable of multitasking.

  Nice to Have

• Experience with software architecture and system tuning.

• Familiarity with continuous integration practices is highly desirable.

• Knowledge of performance, load, and end-to-end testing.

• Experience with application monitoring tools such as New Relic and Prometheus is desirable.

• Proficiency with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) is a plus.

• Additional knowledge of Scala and Big Data technologies would be an added advantage.

  About the Responsibilities

• Delivering software using modern technology stacks, including microservices and single-page applications.

• Developing comprehensive test automation, encompassing both unit and integration testing.

• Collaborating closely with Frontend, Data, System, and Quality Engineers to build robust products; offering and receiving support within the team as needed.

• Actively participating in code reviews to ensure high-quality implementations within your team.
