About our Team
Data Operations is part of Elsevier's Global Operations division, and responsible for delivering high quality, connected Content and Data. The Product & Data Science Team is part of Data Operations and operates at the point where our business and customer needs intersect.
About the Role
Managing our Bengaluru-based Data Science team, alongside contributing to hands-on project work. The role will be split approximately 60/40 between hands-on work and management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Managing and mentoring a team of Data Scientists, promoting personal growth and career progression to retain Data Science talent.
Ensuring timely and successful delivery of data science projects.
Collaborating with Software Engineering squads in the delivery of Data Science capabilities through new and innovative products & services.
Engaging with partners and stakeholders to develop new approaches and methodologies achieving business objectives.
Contributing to the design and delivery of data science roadmaps that support customer and business outcomes.
Planning and delivering data science projects from POC to MVP to production, using modern agile methodologies and tools.
Ensuring outcomes are data-driven by using OKRs to think big, start small, and scale fast.
Requirements
Have Data Science and Machine Learning experience
Experience in building and managing data science or analytics teams responsible for delivering, scaling and productionizing data and analytics products.
Be expert in Data Science and/or Machine Learning, with the ability to build advanced models and roll into production,
Have understanding of typical and novel data steps to prepare and process data for analysis,
Have understanding of Data Science frameworks that will support the development of new insights, advanced modelling techniques, and capabilities.
Experience performing data science in a modern DevOps, MLOps, and data engineering environment,
