About the Role

As a Senior Data Scientist I you will be responsible for defining scope of a project with support of managers and execute that project independently. You will also support the development and training of junior staff when needed. You will be self-sufficient in executing basic methods, and work within their teams to execute increasingly sophisticated approaches to deliver outcomes. You will also support the development of best practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring consistent application of best practices in data science to enhance model quality, reproducibility, and scalability within the team.• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering skill development and analytical growth.• Designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and analytics solutions that address key business needs and improve decision-making.• Developing machine learning models, conducting in-depth data analysis, and building AI-driven features that create value for products and users.• Communicating data insights, model performance, and recommendations to stakeholders through clear, impactful presentations.• Participating in customer interactions to understand requirements, present data science solutions, and showcase analytical capabilities.• Working with cross-functional teams to implement data governance and strategy that ensure data integrity and support analytics goals.

Requirements

• Have an undergraduate degree in relevant field (preferably Master’s or PHD)• Must have at least 2+ years of relevant work experience in a data science role.• Must have a solid background in Python, Scala or Java. • Have formal training in machine learning: dimensionality reduction, clustering, embeddings, and sequence classification algorithms.• Have practical experience in Natural Language Processing methods and libraries such as spaCy, word2vec, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Flair, BERT, large language models and prompt engineering.• Have extensive knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. Postgres, Elasticsearch/ OpenSearch, AWS Neptune)• Have understanding of data modelling principles and complex data models.• Have proven knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud platform.
